If during the redundancy process it was suggested that there is a good possibility of securing an additional contract with another NHS Trust doing the same job, if that Trust then decided to use those services, after 2 members of staff were made redundant, would there not be cause to say they (the previous employer) knew of the strong possibility of being able to fill the new contract with the two members of staff who were made redundant?
I have had to re-apply for my old job (albeit working in another area) and believe the redundancy was a means of removing 2 stronger candidates thus allowing the unadvertised promotion of the "blue eyed boy" and this is another matter all together.
Regrettably NHS HR are reluctant to comment on whether or not that post should have been externally advertised or if in fact the 2 members of staff should have been made redundant.
