Hi
Several days ago I received a letter from my employer, who is a large global company, that my job is at risk of redundancy. My employer does not really recognise unions as such. They plan to lay off something like 60 or so personnel from one establishment in scotland. There has so far been one meeting between myself, my boss and HR etc to save the job role etc and there are more planned. I have beem with the company for 30 years. I have a heap of questions but one I would like to ask is:
What are the rules on representation? I am just aware that there are two representatives that work within a broad section of my company although I am not sure they know much about what i do as they perform a different role and are only linked to my role on a very tenuous basis.
Am I entitled to speak to them before further consultation takes place and can or should they be present during the consultation process?
Thankyou
