Hi
I was put at risk and had my first (and only) consultation the day before I went on pre-booked holiday.
This week I have worked off-site and have booked the remainder as leave. I think HR are desperately trying to contact me as I have withheld phone calls on my mobile and, my wife says, at home and on her mobile.
If I get into next week, my contractual notice period jumps from 1 to 3 months, which I would obviously like!
Having contacted ACAS, they say the date of dismissal is the date of receipt of any written notification. My question is, can I reasonably remain unavailable and not check my email or home post (may be away anyway!) on pre-booked leave (and an interview early next week)? I believe they will try and impose their wishes regardless.
I don't want to resort to pettiness or deceit! Many thanks.
