    Hi mtcl68

I am sorry to hear that you were talked out of taking redundancy and you are now in alternative employment job that you are not happy with.

As you will be aware, If you decide the new job isn't suitable (which it sounds like you did before you were talked out of it) you give notice during the trial period without affecting your right to a statutory redundancy payment. If however you haven't given notice by the end of the trial period your right to statutory redundancy pay ends.

When you refused the alternative job, can you tell me what happened? Was there a dispute with your employer as to whether the job was a suitable alternative e.g. your employer said your refusal was unreasonable and then talked you around to keeping the job because you wouldn't receive redundancy payment OR did your employer accept your refusal but convinced you to remain in the job for other reasons?

I look forward to your reply. As soon as I hear back from you, I will be able to help you further.
