Hi,
I have been employed by the same local authority for 18 years, 10 as a teacher in two schools and 8 in the local authority as a consultant.
Does anyone happen to know if I was to be made redundant, would they count my years of service as a teacher as well as that of a consultant when calculating redundancy pay? I understand that as a teacher my employers were the local authority and when I moved into working as a consultant, my years of service as a teacher were used to calculate pay and leave etc.
Does this mean that for redundancy purposes I've worked for the same employer for 18 years, albeit in different jobs?
Many thanks in advance for your help
