Exclamation Unfair Redundancy - after I raised a grievance

I have been working at a company for 11mths - 4months temp and then the rest on a perm contract.
I raised a grienvance against a manager - which is still open and on Friday he told me he is re-structuring the department and my job no longer exists!
What are my rights and what can I do?? As my role/tasks are still required within the department and i believe he is doing this for personal reasons - as I have raised a grievance against him.
Does my temp contract count towards a years service??

Your temp contract counts if you were employed by the same company, yes. If you were an agency temp, employed by an agency, or similar, then it won't count.

However other than in certain circumstances, such as if there is any discrimination involved, you can only claim unfair dismissal once you have a year's service, so unless your notice period means your employment will end after a year, it won't make a lot of difference.

You could appeal the decision anyway, regardless of how long you've been there. You never know, someone higher up may overturn the decision for the reasons you've mentioned. It just means if you don't have a year's service you won't be able to take it further after that.
