Hi.
I know that the Redundancy Pay is Tax-Free upto £30,000 and above that is then deductable, but I would like to know what will be deducted.
I am being made redundant and my package will consist of the following:
Redundancy payment - Tax Free upto £30,000
Severance Pay - Maximum of £1000 (Deductable)
Payment for 1 days holiday owed - (Deductable)
Severance Pay - One weeks pay per year of employment (Deductable)
Of the deductable payments, what actually will be deducted? Will it be just TAX, or would National Insurance also be deducted too?
I pay into a Pension for the company each week from my wages too, and into a Sports & Social Club, A Sports & Social Lottery and into a Union. Will these also be deducted or not?
I am trying to calculate a more accurate balance for my redundancy, and this information is still somewhat missing.
Thanks in advance,
Gaz
