On the 28th of Dec I had a phone call from my employer to tell me they had lost the contract that was due to carry the company over the Jan/Feb period, and that he would be placing all of his employees except for the four foremen on a temporary layoff.
On the third of Jan I arrived at the works yard to collect my tools to find that only I had been laid off.
On Jan 5th I received a letter, informing me that I had been made redundant, along with a p45 dated 31st of Dec.
I had been employed by this firm for the last four years, I have had my four weeks redundancy pay but only one weeks pay in lue of notice.
On the 15th of march I saw a sub contractor that the company uses when they are busy in one of the work vans, and when I spoke to a old collegue about it I was informed that another sub contractor had been taken on almost the same time that I was made redundant.
So was I stiched up or am I just being paraniod ?
Is this unfair dismisal or am I being paranoid?
