    Default What shall I do?

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I was involved in an accident at work in July 2008 I received the compensation but since returning after three months it has not been the same returning to work - looking for new job of course. My GP has told me to rest this week.

I was not provided with manual handling prior to accident, I suffer from Sciatica and a slipped disc.

My former manager called me into a room said have you been shot when he saw me limping

They do not ask if I am okay.

They got no occupational health to access me then say "oh your doctor says you are better", putting words in Doctors mouths

    Parents getting worried.

I am close to walking out of my job but looking for new ones.

I am bullied in my team, no one wants to help me not even HR.

I get told off for talking to people, people start conversations with me.

People complain I'm negative and grouchy.

They moan I take so long to do my job, no one helps me out.

I ask for help, they say we are all busy.

They are not progressing me further

Rest of the company say I'm friendly and positive.

They say we all have bad backs, the ones who do get taken off shredding and I don't.

Director of department said when I was told no shredding “oh what is so hard about shredding” lifting the heavy boxes etc.

My Doctor wrote with adjustments, they accused me of writing letter

They wrote to Doctor without my consent

Other people make mistakes, they don't get taken off work.

People put things in bin, they don't get blame, I get verbal warning.

They blamed my condition from birth.

There is no union. I have submitted a grievance but it was retracted. They forced me to retract it.

I took full responsibility to fix my hearing aids, which cost me a lot of money.

Forth year with the company. No union.

I’ve attempted to make notes of things, but team attitude is every day.

Is there anything you can suggest.

    Many thanks

It's not clear from your post how much of this is recent. You mention an accident back in July 2008, it's not clear how much of what you've mentioned took place at around the same time, in which case it's really too late to do anything specific about those things now.

You do mention some concerns which seem to be ongoing in terms of people's attitude towards you. Again it's not clear when you raised the grievance you mention, or why you retracted it, but certainly you should consider another one, and not retracting it unless you feel the problems have been dealt with appropriately. If you wanted to consider any kind of legal action you would need to raise a grievance first about all your concerns, not retract it, and then based on their reaction, decide what you want to do.

As well as the ongoing attitude problems, it's not clear whether there are still medical issues requiring adjustments to your job and whether these are being made.

    Hello

All of this has happened when I returned to work in 2009 after three months recovery from October 2008 to January 2009.

My GP has now signed me off due to stress.

My GP said no shredding, my director argued what was hard about doing shredding?

I can't remember to be honest feels like I was just forced so they wouldn't get in to trouble, I think they asked me to email directors saying simple misunderstanding, don't have a copy sadly.

I only had four days training, when the rest of the department gets eight weeks. I passed probation whilst on temporary contract, three months later they took me on permanently, passed probation six months after that, year later they told me I was making mistakes.

They said in the meeting I could not phyiscally see what was on a piece of paper, and I could not retain the information. I was not told these mistakes before during my first appraisal my former manager in first ever annual appraisal said she saw these mistakes before but I wasn't told.

The incidents happen every day at work, it is hard writing them down but I have attempted to, it is my former manager picking on me I think but my new manager is totally ignoring it assuming I'm making it up, saying "we all have bad backs" I was perfectly fine before my accident.

When manager wasn't there they checked on me every ten minutes to check where the work was, for example, didn't attempt to help, the other deputy manager goes and reports to the other deputy manager I'm talking to people and other manager says "it would've been quicker if you weren't talking to people!", people start chats with me. Work load is a lot, 3000 envelopes to open in an hour and a half. It takes 20 minutes to sort one bit of work, twenty to put in the machine, the machine is slow. At chritmas for example 5000, and they reduced my performance because I took too long doing it, figures changed without my consent too, when I have lots of work, they don't believe it's taken me so long and don't ask me if it did when I kept a log of how long it took.

My Doctor has told me to rest my leg this week as if I stand for an hour or more it causes Sciatica which is what the injury was and slipped disc.

They saw me at home and noted some words on an Occupational health report who assessed me, blamed it from birth condition, then phoned my GP without my consent, when I came back new manager informed me occupational health changed and new process, no one assessed, and claimed I was better, which clearly I'm not, took them ten months to sort that out and then they changed my job title, which took another three months. The job was changed when they noticed mistakes, no official new contract.

I get accused of dozing off in meetings when I'm in lot of pain in my back, as the chairs hurt my back, and last thing I want to do.

    Sadly no union.
