I need some advice, if possible?
I was made redundant two weeks and have appealed due to my employer not going through the correct consultation process. I also believe that I've been unfairly selected (e.g. they took two new people on into my team just two weeks prior to making me redundant).
I had my appeal hearing this week and have since received a letter now asking me whether I wish to be considered for an alternative role (which is £12k less that what I was originally earning). I feel as if my employer is doing this to try and cover its back really. The only question they *did* ask during my 'consultation period' is whether there was anywhere in the business in which I would like them to concentrate in terms of finding a new role but in the actual redundancy meeting, they said they hadn't found anything suitable! So, how come now they've finally 'found' a position??!
Can anyone advise as regards whether they can offer me something during this appeal process?
