I currently work for one of the major banks as a Finance Technician in an internal reporting team.

My work is moving to another team due to restructuring and as of next month literally everything I do will no longer sit within my team...I have no idea what I will do on the first working day of Feb and no tasks have been assigned to me. My team manager has moved to another role and my line manager is looking for other positions although we have not been told officially we are in danger of redundancy...big hints only!

My team manager has spoken to other managers and I can help with year end activitites which will give me work up until March.

What I want to know is whether I have any rights as to what work I am now given as my job as i know it will not exist. The manager above my team manager has not given clear indication that redundancy might happen but this has been hinted.

Do I have to put up with just helping other teams and do I have to accept another role if they try and place me into one?

I want to leave but I would owe them study fees along with the issue of other benefits which would remain if i was made redundant rather than left; pension, loan, saving scheme.

I am not happy at all with how the restructuring has affected me and I want to move into a role which has clear funcions and where i can develop and carry on studying...not just come in every day scrounging for work from other teams without a real focus.

Any help on where I stand would be appreciated.
