Employment date in calculating redundancy payment Hi, I was initially employed on a fixed term contract and after about 3 months moved onto a permanent contract. I have been gived redundancy notice and want to know what date of employment should be used when calculating redundancy payments. Should it be from the start of the fixed term contract of the permanent contract. It is the difference between 2 year and 3 years service for me. Thanks.

Thank you for your question.
If you were employed by the company from the first day of your fixed term contract then this is the date that your service should be calculated from.Clara Buckingham
