Hi there!
Ive read some really good information on here so thought I would give it a go! Im writing in on behalf of a colleague who works for the same company as I.
She went on a weeks' holiday a few weeks back and whilst she was away, the company/her boss posted an internal vacancy very similar to hers on the internal intranet site! She was also emailed this by Totaljobs.com. Upon her return to work and taking this up with her boss, she was invited to a HR meeting and told of her impeding redundancy. When she bought up about the internal advertisement of the job, they apologised and that was that. Im in the middle of typing up a letter on her behalf now and wanted to include as much information as possible.
The new position is office base and site based unlike her office based position now. She wouldnt want to do the new job of changing light bulbs and painting branches anyway, but its the way that they have gone about everything.
There is very little information available on the process around redundancy, neither in the T&Cs or the Employee handbook. What are the chances of raising a grievance given that the new position is not exactly the one she has now?
Thanks in advance!
Jo
