I am currently a training manager for a staff of approx 160. today I was called into a meeting to find the Head of HR sat there and was told this was not a good meeting. I was told that my Role was at risk of redundancy, and that I can go home to sort myself out and attend a consultation meeting on Tuesday at 1pm.
Please help what do I ask in the meeting, what am I entitled to?
I have been there for 3.5 years, without any incident, and always had excellent reviews.
Not sure what to do

Hi Andy
As background you may wish to read my guide to redundancy which is aimed at employers but should help you assess whether or not your employer is acting reasonably, etc.
You should be told why your role is at risk (ie what is the business case) and, if there are any other employees doing your job, what selection criteria do they intend to use (if you are the only training mgr, this will not be relevant). The idea of the consultation period is to give you the opportunity to challenge their proposals, and to consider whether there are any alternatives to redundancy (e.g. reducing hours, any other vacant roles, etc).
Your redundancy pay depends on your age and pay, but is likely to be 3 or 4.5 weeks pay (capped at £380 per week). Your employer should be able to provide details of that. You will also be entitled to at least 3 weeks notice (longer, if that is provided under your contract)
Hope that helps
Pete
