Hi,
Since taking a pay cut in July (which was enforced by the company), I have been looking for another job. I have only been with the company for 20 months. The Directors got wind that I was looking for another job and issued me with redundancy on Thursday of last week. I haven't had anything in writing, and I have asked them to consider redundancy bumping which they have refused to.
They are also making me work my 4 week notice period, in the hope that I will find another job in the meantime, so that they would only have to pay me up to that point and no longer.
Everyone else that they have made redundant this year, which is a total of 7, have been asked to leave that day, and been paid a month in leiu of notice.
I feel I am being unfairly treated, and unfairly selcted for redundancy because I was looking for another job.
Do I have any rights?
Thanks
Being made redundant because I was looking for a new job.
