I have been made redundant, and my termination date is at the end of the month. I am wondering about what restrictions I have on my employment, and whether certain parts of my employment contract still apply even after redundancy.

I am currently a consultant and trainer, and would like to continue working in the same sector and with some of the same clients.

The following is in my employment contract:

You will not in respect of any business competing with that of the Company directly or indirectly solicit or entice away from the Company or deal with any customer or supplier of the Company with whom you have had any dealing within the 12 months preceding termination of your employment or with whom (to your knowledge) the Company is negotiating to deal at such termination.
There are three opportunities for me -

1. A full time role at local authority who may potentially become clients of my old company. I would be able to deliver consultancies and training for the local authority, meaning they wouldn't have to spend tens of thousands on buying services from my old company.

2. Work as a contractor for a long standing client of my old company, delivering consultancies and training. They had already identified a need for this role and potentially could evidence that they were going to hire anyway.

3. Become a freelance consultant, particularly aiming to work with clients of my old company.

Does my old employment contract preclude me from seeking work through options 1,2 or 3?

As I understand it any clause in an employment contract would have to be proven as reasonable by the company to still be valid?

Does the fact that I have been made redundant mean that this clause is not reasonable, and therefore invalid?

Many thanks in advance
