Default Selection criteria? unfair redundancy help..

After 25 years of service as a driver i have been told i am being made redundant.

As 1 of 5 drivers, i have longest service (25 years) , next driver has 12 years service, two of the drivers have 6 years service, and one has 3!

    Selection criteria:
    Time keeping - i have 100%
    Own fault accident damage- 100%
    Disciplinary record- 100%
driving license points - 3 (the company has counted this as 3 points deducted from my score even though it is one offence)

Should service be taken into account?

Should skills be taken into criteria?
    ( i.e class 1 and 2 drivers) i have class 1 !

    Urgent Help Please!!

    Thank you for your question.

Unless there is a pre-agreed selection criteria in a redundancy policy, your employer can choose what selection criteria is to be used as long as it is fair and objective.

The company is under no legal obligation to use length of service or skills as a criterion for selection.
