    Default voluntary redundancy or

Hi it would be great if someone could help, me and my wife both work in the same department at the same company but on different shifts because we have 2 year old son. The company are changing the shifts from two to just a day shift out of are department of five workers they are reducing it to two and we have to reapply for are jobs, they are offering redundancy or a different job but with a big pay cut we both can’t work days. My question is would it be compulsory redundancy or voluntary because they are offering a different job, I have mortgage and loan protection but will not pay out if it was voluntary redundancy

    Thank you for your question.

From the facts you have provided, this would not be voluntary redundancy.

If your role has been made redundant and the alternative employment that has been offered to you is not suitable due to the low wage and hours that you can not work, you would argue that the job is not suitable alternative employment.

    I hope this helps.
