Your formal redundancy notice period will have ended when your commenced your 'alternative employment'.

As you are under a trial period the law doesn't require your employer to allow you time off to look for alternative employment.

However, there is always the issue of 'reasonableness' where law does not prevail. Is it reasonable for your employer to allow you time off to attend an interview especially if you have over 2 years service, particularly where you may be unemployed if the alternative employment offered is unsuitable?

I'm afraid it will be at your employer's discretion whether you are allowed time off without booking a holiday.
