Sickness Absence in Redundancy We are having the criteria set in a redudancy situation and I had serious operation which I acme from too soon and had to go off again I am told that this is being treated as two absences , my doctor is happy to give me a letter saying that it was the one illness can they do this ??

It is automatically unfair to count any DDA-related absence records in any redundancy selection decision. Is the reason for your absence covered by the Disability Discrimination Act?
Otherwise, how long was there between returning from the operation to your next period of absence?Clara Buckingham
