    Default A little help Please??

    Hello everyone,

hopefully I can get an answer here, looked all over the Internet and can't find one!!

I was made redundant on the 17th of July,

your position within the company will no longer be required due to redundancy
that's part of what my letter said,

However, on the 13th August, I got a call from the same company asking me to return to the same position, which I duly did (starting on the 17th August).

My question is, are there any rules about continous service, ie: if they rehire me within a certain time frame, does my 'time served' carry on??

Any help on this subject is greatly appreciated
    Michael

    Hi

I'm afraid your employer is not under any legal obligation to retain your continuous service as there has been a break in service of one or more weeks.

Unless or course you have a contractual agreement with your employer which allows for continuity of service.

You need legal advice. Either Citazens advice or get your 1/2 hours free legal advice from an employment law solicitor. Don't call ACAS they are on the company's side, that's what I have found.

But from what you have said something is wrong there, they have made your job redundant but then immediately replace you (yourself).????? I don't know about continuous service but they can't fill your position for some month's after so get legal advice.

    Good luck
