I have been told today that a Head of Servcie (HOS) tier of management is to be made redundant . Currently there are 7 Heads of Service due to an organisatonal restructure. It will happen in 2 processes - operatonal services in 3months, support services in 12 months - that means no change for 2 HOS in support services. I am operatonal so will be affected within 3 months. Of the remaining 5 HOS - 2 will be promoted to Ass Directors as they have been completing these duties additional to their substantive HOS post. One HOS will remain in current post for 3 years to oversee an ongoing project with no change to t&c's. The post holder earmarked for one AD post is on secondment elsewhere and it is anticpated that the 2 remaining HOS( Myself and another colleaugue) will apply for a 2 year secondment to the AD post - which potetially will become permaneent. I do not have the skills for that area of the business.
This only seems to leave me who in essence is affected negatively A new post ( not yet named but can expect to be 'very senior manager' status will be created and I would slot into that - there are no details of the role, pay etc(otherthan potentially £5k less) at this stage. Feels like I am the only one being treated adversely here. Is there anuthing I can do. I am told that redudancy pay is not an option.
Any help or guidance gratefully recieved
