Hi
My question is...if you are making a great deal of the employees in your company redundant (this will be significantly more than 20), but you do not feel it is a safe business decision to have employees to continue working there once you have made the initial announcement prior to consultation due possible damage to the product from aggrieved staff - how do you manage the consultation process remotely and with some employees still working there but not others?
Many thanks in advance,

This is a difficult process as you should not make a decision as to who is to be made redundant prior to the consultation process. You have a duty to provide work and you should check your contract to see if you can suspend. Any suspension should be done on full pay. Ideally if you are doing this you should place the whole department on suspension otherwise it may look like you have already made a decision which is those that are remaining. Any member of staff who does commit any damage or breaches their contract can be disciplined through the normal way.
I hope this helps
